Sr Manager, Growth Marketing
Own the conversion side of the growth engine — lifecycle, CRO/experimentation, PLG, and the signal-driven plays — with three specialists, a signal stack already bought, and ~20 production agents waiting for an owner who can make them compound.
The mandate
Redis has traffic, product signups, and a signal stack most teams would envy — and converts far too little of it. Organic clicks are down 40% YoY while impressions are up 76%; the business answer is not more traffic, it is a machine that converts what still arrives. This seat owns that machine: lifecycle, CRO and experimentation, the growth side of PLG, and the signal-driven plays that turn product usage and intent into pipeline. The quarter this role walks into asks for $21.5M sourced pipeline, 345 SAOs, and 70K product signups — and the conversion metrics this seat owns are the ones that slipped: hand-raisers fell 1,317 → 546, MQL→SAO fell 17.2% → 10.2%, and Keys→Paying fell 10.9% → 5.3%. Getting those curves pointed back up is the job, and the scoreboard.
This is a strategy and people-management seat, not an execution seat — the day-to-day is run by three specialists you manage and a catalog of production agents you own like products.
What you inherit (this is not a blank slate)
- Three direct reports, staffed and scheduled — Growth Specialist, Signal Orchestration and Growth Specialist, SEO/AEO (Verto, in seat Sep 1) and Growth Specialist, Experimentation (contractor, Nov 1) — plus escalation rights on Verto's monthly bank of hours when priorities need to move.
- The signal stack, already bought and being configured — 6sense (100 segments), Apollo, Pocus, and Outreach, wired to the signal-based orchestration model: a bow-tie play system mapping signals to timed plays, with the play catalog live in this hub.
- Programs of record with briefs, not decks — 007 · Email & Activation (this seat's flagship: the post-signup path to first value), the Experimentation Program, and the growth lanes of the website program (Pricing → Configure, the sign-up flow rebuild, white-glove follow-up).
- ~20 production agents tagged lifecycle/PLG out of the team's 79-agent catalog, plus named daily ownership of the Website + CRO agent when it ships in November — its brief says plainly that the owner rule is unmet until this hire lands.
- A measurement layer being rebuilt under you — warehouse migration, GA4 sign-off, and locked per-page baselines land this quarter, so wins are provable, not asserted.
What you'll do
- Set the lifecycle strategy — segmentation, triggered orchestration on the shared 6sense signal feed — and turn it into the roadmap your Signal Orchestration specialist executes weekly.
- Run the CRO/experimentation program like a portfolio: a prioritized backlog across landing pages, signup flow, and key conversion points, a real testing cadence with statistical discipline, and honest calls on what failed.
- Own the absorbed PLG scope — self-serve, cross-sell, onboarding automation, in-product experience — and reverse the Keys→Paying decline with it.
- Own website strategy and activation with Scott's team: what ships, why, and what it must convert at, against the locked baselines.
- Own your agent catalog like products: the ~20 lifecycle/PLG agents plus the CRO agent — decide what gets built further, what gets retired, and be the named daily owner the operating model requires.
- Redirect capacity deliberately: aim your two Verto specialists monthly, hold the experimentation contractor to the cadence, and escalate to Nash when the bank of hours needs to move.
- Report on the operating rhythm: weekly scoreboard actuals, pacing on the Exec Dashboard, and the hours-returned ledger for every agent you own.
- Partner with Alexis (paid) and Scott (web) as peer Sr Managers so paid, lifecycle/PLG, and web reinforce each other — the bow-tie only works as one system.
First 90 days, already scheduled
- September — Verto specialists land; inherit the signal map and the AEO program in flight; take over the Email & Activation roadmap (email rail + activation journey, combined Sep 4).
- October — the platform launch ships ~100 rebuilt pages; baselines lock; your testing surface triples. Set the experimentation backlog before the traffic arrives.
- November — your experimentation contractor starts, the CRO agent enters shadow mode under your ownership, GrowthX exits, and the growth motion runs on your roadmap, not the transition plan.
About you
- Track record running lifecycle and/or a growth/PLG motion at a B2B SaaS company with direct ownership of an experimentation program — you have called false positives, killed weak tests, and shipped compounding wins.
- Direct people-management experience, ideally mixing agency-staffed specialists and contractors, not only FTEs.
- Comfortable inheriting a live system — an agent catalog, a signal stack, programs mid-flight — and prioritizing it, rather than needing a blank slate.
- Fluent enough in signals and intent data (6sense or comparable) to design plays, not just approve them.
- Strong enough on website strategy to own activation credibly alongside lifecycle/PLG without personally publishing pages.
- At home in an AI-first operating model: every role here runs agent-augmented, every agent has a named owner, and "everyone ships" is the cultural bar from the H2 plan.
Nice to have: PLG-company background given the absorbed self-serve/cross-sell scope; hands-on Marketo (the lifecycle rail, with Grazitti building against it); experience being accountable for a conversion number, not just a program.
